- There is a simple solution for small box / case layouts. I'll post a series of pictures of one of my 1500 idleing or abandoned project shortly.

Lajos:-)0
- John,

Using the hood of a Mercedes would take more than woodworking skills. What a unique idea0
- Beverly, I have a slightly different idea. Instead of glass, I am thinking more like a hood of a Mercedes Benz, where the grill is raised when you open it. That way, the front of the box is expose for easier viewing, but I have to depend on my friend to build it for me. I have no woodworking skills at all.:sad:0
- John,

Very interesting idea :-) I'd like to follow the progress of this project. Keep posting photos, please.

Have you thought of adding glass sides beneath the glass cover and raising the entire diorama up so the train can be seen at eye level instead of just being able to look down into it? This idea would be much more difficult to construct, but may be worth the effort. Just a thought, though :-)0
- Looking great john!! Alex will surely like it.the layout of the buildings and the road make the scene really work. I do have a question. Do you have the track mounted to a separate piece of wood or is it on the boxes bottom?
Keep up the great work
Steve aka "Slugger"0
- John, it already incorporated into the design. One of the business is name after Alex's wive.0
- John, that will look fantastic... sweet and simple! Alex is gotta be loving this. One idea... you could incorporate Alex & family (wife & furkids) on the loading dock so they could be upclose and personal to the freight action.

John K.0
