- Hi David
I used to work with 3 brands of acrylics colors: Tamyia, Vallejo and Games Workshop (Citadel)
For the windshiels and windows i use Tamyia Gunmetal color, Ref: X10, it gives a better look that the black.
For the silver parts of the cars, bumpers, lights the Games Workshop ref: Chainmail (cod: 99189999153) is outstanding for chrome effects.
www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armyS...03&rootCatGameStyle=
Hope that it will help you.
Álvaro0
- Álvaro, I'd be very interested to see a side-by-side comparison of the clear casting resin versus what you use now. In particular, I'd like to know what paint you use for the windshields and windows. I find that it looks much better than the solid black that most people use, and it photographs very well. Kudos for your choice!0
- by the way Tim, what's the reference for the clear resin you used to work with?
I went to micromark site...i would like to have your advice...
many thanks
Álvaro0
- Hi Loren and Tim
I ordered a few days ago some decal paper sheets from Micromark, sometimes it's not easy to buy some stuffs from outside the European Union, because when the stuffs arrived here in Portugal most of the time, i must pay some custom taxes, wich sometimes are more expensive than the price of the stuffs i bought, so every time i need to purchase something from outside the EU i must think well and calculate if it is advantageous.
Thanks
Álvaro0
- Tim,
Why can't we send Alvaro some clear resin? Postal works both ways. ;-)
Loren0
- Alvaro, The clear resin I have has a pot life of 7 minutes and de-mold in about 15 minutes. I use Micro-Mark.com clear resin though. Not much time to work with it. Doubt you can get Micro-Mark Clear Resin sent to you. Go with what you got!

Hobo Tim :-)0
- Wow, those Porsche would be something for Hans Riddervold.0
- Hi Tim
Yes, i already used clear resin, but it takes too much time to dry (24 hours), i am not so patient, instead of that the white resin only takes about 12 or 15 minutes to dry.:-)
Álvaro0
- Alvaro, have you thought of using clear resin for your vehicles? I know bubbles are an issue, but vacuum de-gassing will eliminate them or you can use a pressure pot to shrink them. Any thoughts!!!

These look great!!!

Hobo Tim ;-)0
