Image information
Description
Size comparision with a full length car. The yard is visible on the right side of the picture. The mainline could hold 4 of these small cars, but only 2 and a half of the full length version.

- I used UHU Holz. It's a synthetic wood glue that glues almost everything, including marklin plastic and metal. The solvent is water (non toxic), so as long as its wet it's easy to wash it off. It dries from white to transparent and turns into a kind of soft plastic. When the parts are pressed together during the drying (20-60 minutes) it is relatively strong. (i repaired furniture with it) When left to dry without pressure the glue easily comes off from most surfaces. I guess this glue mechanically bonds the surfaces regardless of the material.0
- Victor,

great work, those cars look nice.

Because I'm planning another project I would like to ask what kind of glue you use to glue the Maerklin car parts. I'm especially interested in the gluing of the base part. I've heard that it is almost impossible to glue the coupler together again reliably with almost any kind of glue.

GreetingZ
Uwe0
- Only on the roofs. I have to repaint the roofs sometime to cover the cuts. The sides are ok, since the cuts are between two planks.0
- Viktor,

I think I can see where the cars were cut. Are the cuts noticeable in person? I like the short cars :-)0
