- Fred, not at all.. I really like the look of it.0
- Stony- Compare it to the marklin church--
My feelingz , churches vary in size, as do all buildings. It's detailed enough for a front row position, or as a background church. I cut a hole in the foam to recieve the base and then added details and bushes to hide seams. Added land scaping material to trees and then they fit right in. Doors and windows are nice for Z. I added flower boxes, fence, and stairs to this Danbury mint model. At $28 bucks you can't go wrong-- Even if you hide it in a group of trees to indicate a New England town over the hill. Oh, I also added chimeny. Some buildings need to be downsized-- even the box stores that are lazered have been truncated so as to not overpower a layout.
I hope you don't think I gave you a bum stear ;-)
Best,
Fred0
- I went ahead and ordered one of these. When I opened the box, it sure seems big compared to everything else on my layout, but.. when I take out the micrometer, the roof is (Zscale) 55' by 38', and the actual church is 72'x55', making this actually close to 1:300 scale.

Still looks good though. Even has a switch on the back for "One if by Land, Two if by Sea"0
- That sure is one fine looking church. I may just have to try my hand at building it.

TerryH0
- Stony- sure does!! and it lights up!- I found it again- finally on Lighthouse depot- Harbour lights # 42906-- other sites are selling it for $99+
Contacted Danbury Mint and may only find it with luck on the aution site.
Fred0
- It looks like the $28.88 is WITH shipping!0
- This is a solid cast piece from Danbury mint.. very good for Z scale... HARBOR LIGHTS has this same ( different manufacturer) church ON SAIL! from 99.50 down to 28.88. Check out Harbor Lights site. We pay that much for a car..It also lights up the main building windows AND the lanterns in the steeple. I have both models and they would fit on any Z scale layout.. especially with bushes and scenicing (SP?)as in the above picture.
Barrister Babble: I am in no way connected to- working for- or ______________ fill in the blanks- to either Harbor lights or Danbury mint. I post this here only to alert Z scalers about these neat churches.
Fred0
