During the late 70's-early 80's- When I first found Z, I converted a coffee table into a layout, It was sunk 3+ inches below the glass top. Eventually-soon- I had the train rise up to the level of the table top and made this wooden mountain with 3 entrances- or exits- depending which way the train was going. And inside the mountain I had a switch- so nobody would know where it was coming out- including the trainmaster- ME! That was the First thing I did wrong.. The mountain is made from 3/4 inch pine and the styrations I made with a drill fitted with coarse wire brush. this was BF! Before Foam! :-)
