- Alex- This is a Z model of Motif #1 located in Rockport Mass. Arguably the most painted building in North America as stated by tourist info. It was destroyed in a hurican in 1988- I think- and was rebuilt. It has been used in many movies and was "located" in Sitka Alaske in a more recent movie.
This is a kit bash of two of Stonebridge Schoolhouse models. Demensions were zapped to z from detailed fotos. The boards are vertical, so I coild not use the kit walls- but I did use the windows and proportions on the lower building. The pitch and depth of the higher end had to be redrawn. In making this I was really torn--There are a lot of details and trim paint I wanted to add-- but then- it would not be Motif #1!
This is still a work in progress and I will add an unauthorized BELL as it is very nautical- when completed. Sections of the roof and doors were used from original kit.
This was the building I was going to make for the school house competition, but I got only one kit at the time. The idea of the contest was to see how members would take the same kit and make it "thier own" by bashing or painting- turning a basic similar kit into something unusual.
additional fotos to follow when finished.
Fred
0
